NovaSkill, a highly regarded not for profit Group Training and Registered Training Organisation are seeking a self motivated individual to join our busy team in the Coffs Harbour area and undertake a 4 year apprenticeship in carpentry joinery certificate III.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Key functions specific to this role?
- Construct, erect, install, renovates and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials. They might specialise in domestic, commercial and/or industrial work.
- Domestic work includes home construction, renovation and repair, kitchen installation, and general building maintenance.
- Commercial carpentry covers shop fitting, and commercial construction of office buildings etc.
- A carpenter working in the industrial sector will generally work on large-scale industrial sites including power stations, manufacturing plants and factories.
What personal attributes might a successful carpenter have?
Generally speaking, people working as carpenters will be those who:
- Enjoy practical work
- Are able to and enjoy working with their hands
- Have a sense of balance - important for working at heights
- Are keen to learn and motivated to achieve
- Have good health and eyesight
- Are able to work as part of a team
- Current NSW drivers Licence
